Downtown Winnipeg located at the confluence of the Red River and Assiniboine River.
The traditional winter time gatherings on the Assiniboine River Trail are an assembly of individuals, unified together into communal recreation on the river’s ice, many coming together as one.
BUNDLE(D) is envisioned to embody this essence of community through the composition of individual elements grouped together into a single structure in order to provide a function: shelter. The resulting structure is a community of elements, all slightly different, aligned, interlaced and unified. The resulting form is subtle, identifiable and familiar. The organization of the elements develop a motion through repetition, graceful and fluid which varies along length and height. The wooden elements are thin, layered and bundled together to form the whole. Connection is simple and clear in expression.
Small, transportable with an intimate scale. Solitary in presence, familiar in form with clarity in assembly, BUNDLE(D) is one because of many.
